This is the first year that Serangoon Garden Secondary School is having her Graduation Day Celebration for her Secondary 4s and 5 pupils. With the help of 8 twisters from the school, we managed to complete the project within 45 mins. Another record breaking Balloon Decoration. Wheeee!

Melissa Lee: i am always afraid of balloons... But after last nite's hilarious and fun fun balloon workshop...i can now twist and make simple balloons shapes. yippeee... WE HAD SO MUCH FUN LAST NIGHT.

I am a Clown?

Inspired by my daughter, Elayne. Often, Elayne would walk towards me and say: "Papa, you are very funny. You are like a clown". At that moment, I thought that I would like to give her a surprize by dressing up like a clown and sculpture balloons for her. When she saw my outfit, she jumped with joy and quickly ran to my son, Wayne. Elayne said: "Papa, you so funny. Where is your red nose?". I told her that I have to wait for a bee to sting my nose before my nose could turn red. We have had a good laugh together. Wayne suggested that we should take a photo and he directed Elayne and myself with the pose (see picture above). All the 3 of us have a great fun entertianing ourself with the clown outfit and sculptured balloons.

*Elayne asked me to put on the clown costume again after she woke up from her afternoon nap. =)

SouthEast Distict Meeting (DM) @ The Supreme Court

19 June 2010 was a memorable experience for me. I was at the Supreme Court together with my 18 balloon twisters volunteers teaching a group more than 500 people basic balloon twisting. at the end of the 10 mins, we can see more than 500 balloon dogs made. Very happy to see the smiling faces of all the participants when they suceed in their very first balloon doggie.

During my 6 days in Xi'An, China on Cultural Exchange and Immersion Programme, it is not common to find twisting balloons. Checked out a few stalls and with our tour guide, I noticed that balloon sculpturing was not common in China. The students were very excited even when they see me inflating the balloons. Having quite a fun time twisting and giving away balloons. =)

Yes the volunteers are pretty excited about this workshop and they are eager to attract the public with their skills now. All of them were very happy to know abt balloon scuptoring from you and they were very happy about the way you presented things as in the way you conducted competition to improve their speed and skills which motivated them a lot. The only suggestion was that it would have been better if the workshop was for some more time.

Most, if not all, of the children enjoyed the session very much.
I appreciate the notes that you were helping to take on the white board. Believe those help to make the session even clearer! I was wondering if the spoken instructions were too fast.... The younger ones like 5yo and below may not catch, but then, the parents would be there to guide them.

The instructions, the notes on the white board and the practice sessions are generally very well planned out :)

It was a colourful night on 30 January 2010 at F1 Pit Building. Groups of performance for Chingay 2010 parade have had their first combined rehearsal. 32 balloonists from Alpha Plus Consultancy packed their balloons and pumps went down to the Carnival Area to twist balloons for the spectators and everyone of us have had a great fun there. Looking forward to the actual parade on 19 and 20th Feb with about 200 of our twisters twisting balloons for the audience and making balloon dress deco for the Sambal Dancers on Parade.

The staff of Meritus Mandarin have planned and organised a Christmas Celebration with the objective of bringing joys to some 20 children from the Children’s Aid Society, Melrose Home. Lucas and myself were engaged to sculpture balloons for the children and we have were very surprized that this group of children have learnt Magic and Balloons and was a challenge for both of us to perform Magic and Balloons show to them as they will try to point out how the magic works. But we have enjoyed and have a great time with the staff and children from the home. Hope that there will be more organisation putting more time like what the staff of Meritus Mandarin have done for 2009 Christmas!

This was one of the best brithday party that I have attended so far. Alpha Plus was engaged for a birthday party and not too surprize that most of the kids are girls as we are celebrating birthday for a pretty girl, Clare. It was also my first time performing magic at kids party and I have enjoyed the surprized and laughter of my audience. Can't bear to leave the party towards the end, especially, the children at the party. Will treasure and keep this photos in my special album. =)

Was very happy and excited when we were at Causeway Point sculpturing balloons to raise the sales amount for Serangoon Garden Secondary School. This event was organised by Singapore Republic Polytechnic. The colours and the beautiful art of balloons draw in crowds. The sculptures we made were immediately sold off until the officials from Republic Polytechnics gave us a "YELLOW CARD" by saying: Only pupils who registered for this project can twist balloons and sell. Else, the team will be disqualified.

Before we received the warning, we have already sculptured many and sold many. Opsss! XP

APC celebrates brithday @ Aangan Restaurant @ Excelsior

Today was the 2nd time that I went to Aangan Authentic North Indian Cuisine, Excelsior Hotel n Shopping Center to celebrate a birthday party. It was within a short period of 2 weeks (The last visit on 3rd Nov). When I reached there, was so happy to see the staff of the restauarant as we have made friends during our first visit. =) Edwin and Givan, my assistants for today's party were wonderful. We decorated the restaurant with our simple balloons flowers and cartoon characters and the invited guests (children) have a lot of fun with the balloons sculptured.

NUS Community Service Club: Grant A Wish VII 2009

The National University of Singapore was where I graduated from 10 years ago. I spent my 3 years in the University studying, swimming, studying and swimming. Community Service never come across to me as an important issue then. Being able help the less fortunate, I was very happy. Seems that the day that I was equipped with the small talent to twist balloons and able to teach balloon twisting, we have never reject or disappoint any charity organisation to give free balloon twisting workshops. Whether to raise funds or to entertain the less fortunate or other purposes, Alpha Plus Consultancy, APC, will always be more willing to give our full support! Yeah!

Princess balloon sculpture was the birthday wish for her birthday. On 3rd Nov 2009, APC was invited to The Orange Tree Preschool to celebrate Cheryl's 4 years old daughter birthday. At Aangan restaurant on 3rd Nov, there are 2 birthday parties. APC was invited to celebrate birthday with Bhavest on his one year old birthday. We went there 2 hours earlier to grab some food before we get onto our work. But upon arrival, we were so passionate and excited that we forgotten about ordering food. Instead, we climb up and down the stage to help with the stage decoration and playing with the children. It was a fun day and we have made friends with many people, including the staff at the restaurant, Jerry, the photographer, the invited relatives and friends. Cheers!

New freinds found at Singapore Botanical Garden

On 24th Oct 09, APC balloonists, Veronica and Elyn, were invited to sculpture balloons for a 1 year old birthday party. This was the first time that we went to Singapore Botanical Garden for a birthday party celebration and we were quite amazed as there were so much changes. I still remembered the last visit was some 20 years ago when my parents brought me there. Its a nice place to relax and admire the beautiful scenery and also to meet nice people. We have made friends with a group of people having picnic there. We 'barter' trade balloon sculptures with food and drinks.

On the same day, Pek Kio CC, having an appreciation dinner. Our Magic Interest Group members went there an hour earlier to decorate the restaurant with balloons. We have a lot of fun exchanging balloons and magics. This is our usual whenever we meet up. Yeah!

Lantern Festival celebration at Tampines Changkat Zone 5 RC

It was a rainy day on 3 Oct 2009 at Tampines St 22. Alpha Plus Magicians were engaged to coordinate the Lantern Festival at Tampines Changkat Zone 5 RC, providing Emcees, Stage Games, Hu Lu, Stage Magic etc etc. Knowing that its lantern festival, our balloonists brainstorm to possible balloon sculptures to be sculptured for the day and we came oiur with a variance of 2 designs (Traditional and Mushroom lanterns). Many requested for the Mushroom lantern as it is Alpha Plus latest design and look cute. =)

Though the weather was cold, but the warmth of the residents in participating in this event has liven up the atmosphere. Happy Lantern Festival to all.

President Challenge 2009 @ Ngee Ann Civic Plaza

29 August 2009 was a memorable day for Alpha Plus Magicians and Balloonists for teh PAYM President Challenge 2009. The night before, we went down to Ngee Ann Civic Plaza to make 2 puff hearts using Linkaloon and some stall decorations. We ended at about 1.30am and continue the decoration job early morning the next day at 8am.

It was a great fun when we see our sculptures sold at the rate of demand higher than supply. Thanks to David, Jessica, Gabriel, Wei Lai, Joanne and Moses, the more professionals balloonists there to help us in support of this event. It was also the 1st event whereby Alpha Plus Magic Interest Group at Pek Kio CC, Jurong Spring CC and Tampines CC combined effort.

Tampines West CC YEC 8th BGM - Olympian Night

This was the 1st time that Alpha Plus Magic co organised the very 1st Stage Magic Competition held at Tampines West CC Hall on 15 August 2009. It was a great success with popular Magicians such as Mr Vijay-Magic Castle, Ms Vivien Gog-Sweet Heart Clownist, Dr Loke Han Ying-Republic Polytechnic, Mr Kiki Tay and Mr Jeremy Tan supported our event. Thanks to all.

Congratuation to the top 5 magicians for the night too. Your performance were great! Hes, Hasif, Chandran, Markson and Jazz. Would also like to thank our sponsors-Magic Castle, Auntie Betty and Balloon Baron! The great balloon stand was designed by David and done up by Alpha Plus Balloonists.

Balloon Sculpturing at Darul Ihsan Girl Orphanage

On 17 August, together with South East CDC, Alpha Plus Balloonists was engaged to celebrate National Day Observance Ceremony by providing balloons for the children and the volunteers. We have a lot of fun as we get to know the volunteers, we teach the volunteers and we twist together.

The celebration ended with a Singapore Flyer tour where we performed Magic to the foreigners in the same cabin.

Hi all!

I am Norvin, one of the Magicians from Alpha Plus Magic. I am currently a year 2 student at Republic Polytechinic. I am part of the Republic Polytechinc Magic Club.

I took up a magic show in Pasir Ris Elias CC for their family carnival. The residents there attempt to break the Guiness World record for making the most number of dumplings. Frankly speaking, the stage is very wide and teh whole place were filled with people. It looks GRAND!

I was nervous and shocked when its my turn to perform, but everything did went well and I actually try out some kids magic where I didn’t tried before. It was another great experience for me and also not forgetting my magic show partner, Edwin.

I wish that I have more opportunities to perform and gain more experience.

My 1st Balloon Twisting Workshop (Intermediate)

Together with another 4 members of Alpha Plus Magicians, we went down to Pasir Ris Elias CC to teach a group of 11 pupils Ballooon Twisting (Intermediate). I was very happy that some of the children who have attended out Balloon Twisting (Basic) have remembered the last trainer's lesson (Baofa) and they are able to follow through the lesson well. Time passes fast and ve ended making Bunny, Magic Wand and Elmo and we have made friends with many our our participants. Looking forward to more intermediate balloon twisting workshop.

Alpha Plus Magicians outing to Sentosa Island

It was a Sunny day and Alpha Plus Magicians arrange to meet at harbourfront MRT station at 10.30am. We did not plan which part of Sentosa we wish to go until the very last minute that we decided to stop at Palawan Beach. We found ourselves a place nearest to the food court and with shade and we start playing 'O Bay Som'- The loser will have to perform Magic to designated audience by the winners. We have brought laughter and surprizes to the people at the beach and at the sametime, our Magicians have gain much experience and Sun burnt! We hope to arrange for more such outings. It was FUN!

METTA School Fund Raising Project

The Moral Home for the Aged Sick

On 14 June, 9.30am, together with the Committee members of Braddell Heights Zone A RC QIGONG Interest Group and Youth Group, Alpha Plus Magicians accompanied the group of volunteers to The Moral Home for the Aged Sick at Bedok to celebrate father's day be putting up a 30 minutes stage performance. I was there earlier than the bus as to my surprize, the volunteers packed lots of bags full of food stuff and few cartons of food for the elderly there. We have had a fun time together entertaining the elderly and at the same time helping them and getting to know them. This meaningful outing ended with a treat from Mr Gary, the Chairman of the RC. We hope to have more of such events as paying forward to the community is part of our objective.

It was a hot Saturday afternoon. Three of Alpha Plus Magicians: Felicial Ding, Edwin Wong and Norvin Ong were invited to perform for the invited elderly at Teck Ghee Community Club. Beside the 3 Magicians from Alpha Plus Consultancy, our team of Magicians and Balloonists came down to the CC to contribute their service to the needy too. (Carrying Rice, Ushering, Balloons sculpturing and etc). We are all very happy as we made new friends with the Youth Group at Lotus Light and at the same time do our part for the community. The three sculptures learnt are: BIG STARs, Giraffe and Superman. All of us have much fun together. This is the second year that Alpha Plus Magic is supporting Vibrant Blood 2009 Management Committee.

Vibrant Blood is an annual blood donation drive organized by Red Cross Humanitarian Network - NTU Chapter. This year, with the support from RCHN ITE College East, they aimed to collect 500 units of blood as well as recruiting 200 first time donors over the two days. Therefore the committee would like to invite all to spend a few hours of your weekend to come and give blood, give life.

As there will be balloon twisting to add spice to the drive, Alpha Plus Magic was engaged to teach the volunteers basic balloon twisting skills and also provide free balloons and rental of pumps for their event. With a total of about 30 young and eager to learn volunteers, the Alpha Plus Basic Balloon Twisting workshops enriched the volunteers with Basic Twisting skills to create Creative Sculptures. Both Alpha Plus Magic Trainers and NTU volunteers have enjoyed the time together. Hope that more organisations will initiate and so a part for the comunity.

The Objective of the Interest Group are to:

Alpha Magic Interest Group reach Club 52 at about 5pm. Our Magicians, Edwin, Norvin and Boon Kiat were even earlier. They reached the club at about 4.35pm. As usual, once we meet, we will take out all our Magic Props and Balloons and challenge one another. We made Road Runner - Beep Beep, Elmos, Cookie Monsters and 100 over balloons flowers for the guests. The one that attract the most people are stall the hearts with a bear hugging on it. We have a fun time together and hope that there will be more of such event whereby we can meet up regularly. Not to forget about Norvin, Felicia, Boon Kiat and Dave stage performance that excited the audience and earn loud clappings and cheering!

It was an evening night at Blk 2 Hougang Ave 3 @ Hougang Zone 1 RC where the residents celebrated year end party together. A group of lion dancers first filled the atmosphere with loud druming and dancing. Alpha Plus Magician, Faris, went on stage next to amaze the residents with his 30 minutes show and this followed by our ballooon sculptuer, Irene. She turned the plain 260s balloons into colourful flowers and animals for the children and residents.

Our Emcees cum Magicians, Alphonso and Faris went down to Hougang Zone 6 RC on 13 Dec afternoon. Throughout the 2 hours of Magics and games, the whole RCs were filled with joy and amazement. I brought a packet of 260s balloon and 2 ways hand pump with me as well. Upon seeing the warmth at the RC, I took out my weapon and together with my assistants, we scupltured and created another climate to the celebration! it was a hot but fun filled Sunday where a group of NPCC cadets from Serangoon Garden Secondary School March down to The Serangoon Community Club to learn basic balloon twisting workshop. The balloon twisting workshop was conducted with the objectives of preparing the pupils for Chingay 2009 performance. We have lots of funs and the pupils have each learnt 5 balloons sculptures. Visit to RAMAKRISHNA MISSION BOYS' HOME

This is another Community Involvemnet Project by Alpha Plus Magic with the residents of Punggol Community Club. On Saturday, 8 November 2008, A group of 23 pupils from the NPCC Unit from Serangoon Garden Secondary School and another group of volunteers from the Punggol CC went down to the Ramakrishna mission boys' home to celebrate Deepavali. Alpha Plus Magic was engaged to support the event by performing magic and teaching the boys basic ballooon twisting. The boys were very keen to learn and they managed to learn the 2 basic balloons twists (Basic and Loop Twist) and within a short period to 1 hr, they have learnt and mastered 3 balloon sculptures (Dogs, Swords and Machine Guns). It was fun and filled with warmth especially when the pupils from the NPCC performed the multi cultural dance and the volunteers from Punggol CC prepared some food for everyone.

Singapore Pools (Pte) Ltd FA CUP Final 2008

On 30th October 2008, Thursday night, Alpha Plus Magic was tasked to provide Balloon Sculpturing for the Singapore Pools (Pte) Ltd Football Association (FA) CUP Final at Jalan Besar Studium. The first match was a friendy match between Primary School pupils and the studium was filled with lots of Young Supporters. Machine Guns and Balloon Swords were the 2 'HOT' request by the Primary School Supporters. Many girls requested for flower bracelets and Hearts too. Towards the End of the event. Many employees from the Singapore Pools crowded around our 'Mini' stalls and many balloons ELMOs, COOKIE MONSTERs and TWEETY BIRDs were borned.

Business Opportunity Fair 2008

On 4th October 2008, Saturday, 1pm to 5pm, there was an aggressive competition among 22 groups of entreprenuers at the Gallery Room at Concorde Hotel Singapore. The entreprenuer team who can attract the most number of people to visit their store will be the winner. Alpha Plus Magic was invited and sponsored the ACES team to draw as many crowd as possible. It was also a great time where 4 of our young magicians and 2 balloon artists were present to exchange their skills and at the same time perform magics and twist balloons for the people, intention is to draw the people to the ACEs Team booth. During the last 30 minutes of event, the 4 magicians, on rotation, went up to the stage (On the chair) to perform for the crowd. I was a tiring but exciting events. We have learnt lots of ideas in promoting and selling from the others entreprenuers. Cheers!

Balloon Twisting Workshop @ Woodland Zone 4 RC

On this day, 28 September 2008, Sunday, Woodland Zone 4 RC invited Alpha Pus Magic to conduct balloon twisting workshop for the residents. The members of the RC prepared breakfast for all of us and we started our workshop at 10am. A total of 14 pupils attended the workshop and many of them were rather young. The youngest pupil we have is ony 5 year old. We have a great time learning the art of balloons together. Cheers!

Reflection of my 1st balloon show

After much anticipation, on 21st September 2008, I went to my first ever balloon twisting performance. Being the first time as a performer of balloon twisting, I was quite nervous in the beginning. Thanks to the adults and children, I felt welcomed. The first balloon that I made was a balloon hat with a teddy bear. I thought that the three years old birthday boy would like it, but he refused to wear it on his head. He kept crying as his parents did not allow him to play with his scooter. Balloons did not excite him like any other children at that moment.

The children were quite shy to ask for balloons at the start of the birthday party. However, balloon swords and machine guns never fail to create a spark in the eyes of the children. Even the crying birthday boy joined in the "war" after some time with other children. It is definitely a memorable day to me to bring smiles to the children.

Balloon Twisting for Staff Recreation at SGS

It is indeed a fruitful Wednesday (17 September) afternoon at Serangoon Garden Secondary School whereby close to 50 teachers have learnt the art of twisting balloons. All of them who participated in the Basic Balloon Workshop has learnt the 3 basic twists and successfully turned their long 260s balloons into balloon dogs and swords. It was not an easy task as I have to reduce the normal 90 minutes workshop into a 30 minutes one. But all of us have such a great fun learning and hearing all the laughter and "PoPs!!!"

Lantern Festival Celebration at FengShan Diamond RC

Balloon Twisting at SengKang West Zone C

It was a Thursday night (10 April), 8-9.30pm whereby Alpha Plus Magic went to SengKang West Zone C RC (Blk 318C, AnchorVale). The residents were puntual and waiting to learn the basic balloon art. We have a lot of fun time together, trying to twist the various sculptures after mastering the 3 basic twist. (Basic, Loop and Ear). Through this workshop, I also get to know more people from the various industries and the Chairman in the RC would like to have more of such activities for his residents and Alpha Plus Magic will be working closely with him to implement a 12 sessions workshop on balloon and Magic art for the residents. Bedok Reservoir Punggol RC Block Party cum Flea Market

It was a crowded Saturday day at Blk 521-522, Hougang Ave 6 on 29 March 2008 when the residents at Bedok Reservoir Punggol RC celebrated their block party. Many residents also rented a stall to sell things. The void deck at Blk 522 was filled with stalls and people, just like what you will see at the Pasat Malam. Alpha Plus Magic also rented a stall to sell balloons, air pumps and balloons sculptures. We managed to sell more than $100 worth of goods from this flea market and all profits will be channelled into the CIP trip in Inner Mongolia in end of May this year. As usual, Alpha Plus Magic was engaged to perform stage Magic (Animals) and at the same time, we also promote our tuition classes, creative art classes and Alpha Plus Magic workshop and Balloons twisting workshop. Balloons at SengKang West RC

It was a wet Sunday evening. The residents at SengKang West RCs celebrated their block party with the theme of fruits. Alpha Plus Magic went down to teach the residents some simple and basic balloons twisting techniques, but we do not have enough time for the residents to try on blowing up and twisting of balloons. Those residents who wish to learn this new skill may have to sign up for the basic balloon twisting workshop which will be conducted on 10th April 2008 (thursday, 8 - 9.30pm) at the RCs. Today is a rainy day. Despite the rain, some 20 residents (Adults and Children) attended the 1.5 hr basic balloon twisting workshop at Punggol Crest RC - Blk 521, Hougang Ave 6. I was very happy to see that many residents in this region are talented. Initially, I planned to teach them only basic sculptures such as sword and dog. But to my amazement, they mastered these two sculptures fast enough for me to proceed on to a more difficult sculptures (Flower Bracelet). All of us have lots of fun and hope that RCs may organise more such events to bond the residents and also to teach and train the residents certain life skills. Twisting of balloons can make a person more confident. It can make someone more creative too!

Before our performance at 4.30pm today, I went down to the balloons shop to top up my balloons and pump for the birthdy party and this Sunday's Crest RC balloons workshop. Happen to see the Boss of Balloon Baron, we have a great chat and we exchange some balloons twisting techniques. The boss sculptured a butterfly and a tooth for me and I twisted a sword for a teacher that I met at the shop. (Hope that she is able to blow and sculpture 450 pirates swords for her school's sports day, house theme. : p and hope that your house will win the chiampion this year for sports day). Alpha Plus balloons twisters reach the destination 15 minutes before the expected time and soon we reach, a group of children, looking and staring at us and seems like they wanted the balloons but yet too shy to get from us. Before I could make a balloons hat for myself (which I normally would), the kids crowded around us and requested for funny sculptures such as alien, Thomas the train, Butterfly, Princess Crown, Machine Guns, Armour shield, Weapon hat etc which we have never done it before. As not to disappoint the children, we try to twist the balloons into armour, shield, butterfly, dinosaurs etc etc. To be a good balloon twister, creativity and willing to try is a must! Alpha Plus Magic went down to Blk 585, Pasir Ris Zone 13 RC today to conduct free balloon twisting workshop for the residents. Some of the residents arrived 15 minutes before the start of the free workshop. This showed that they are really keen in learning a new skills. The 17 residents attended the workshop learnt the 4 basic skills of balloon twisting techniques (Basic Twist, Loop Twist, Ear Twist and Tulip Twist). They have also learnt how to twist a simple 260 balloon into a beautiful sword and dog. We have a lot of fun getting together twisting the balloons. On the Lunar 15th Day New Year is also known as YUAN XIAO JIE, Alpha Plus Magic went down to Braddell Heights Zone A RC to provide free Balloon Twisting lesson for the residents. It is not easy to teach a group of different ages, especially some of our pupils are only 4 years old. To learn twisting of balloons, I believed that the minimum age should be 8 yrs in order for him to have the strenght to pinch and twist the balloons. The balloons burst easily if twist without pinching. On that same day, I met up with another young and promising Magician, Jack. He specialise in Close Up magic and a full time magician in one of the restaurant (Refer to picture: A photo of Jack with Alpha Plus 16 year old female magician). Alpha Plus will be more delighted to watch Jack on action. He has amazed the children (Primary 4 tuition class at the RC) with his cards tricks. Alpha Plus 17 year old magician, Stanley, who is specialise in ropes magic, performed all kinds of magic related to the ropes and the children have a great time communicating to him. We stayed for a while and we also get to see the children performed dancing on the stage.

Balloon Twisting Workshop @ ShuQun Sec

It was a day with heavy rain. Alpha Plus Magic has an important task today. Despite the lightning risk announcement and heavy down pour, we headed towards ShuQun Secondary to teach a group of 25 girl guides basic balloon twisting workshop. The bursting of balloons is scary, especially true to the girls, It is not easy to overcome the fear of the bursting of the rubber. But to my surprize, these group of girls managed to follow every step of the instructions and have learnt the 4 basic skills (Basic twist, Lock twist, ear twist and tulip twist) within a short period of time. These girls have also learnt how to change their balloons into sword, dog, teddy bear and flower bracelet. We have a lot of fun and definitely, the 2 hours passes so fast. The girls and their teachers happily went home with their master piece. These group of guides are ready to venture into the Valentine's Day fund raising project and service learning project. Balloons @ Montfort Sec NPCC

Being a police officer in Singapore is a challenge. On one hand, you have to be friendly to people and on the other hand, you have to show no mercy when arresting them. On Saturday, 26 January 2008, Alpha Plus Magic was engaged to teach a group of 50 NPCC cadets on balloons twisting. All of us have much fun especially the cadets have been handling hard weapon during their training, and now they have to sculptured the soft balloons into their weapons. Magic @ Singapore Cheshire Home

Today was a happy day for many at Singapore Cheshire home. The home aim to provide care for the seriously disabled and those who have no or limited means and whose families are unable to provide adequate care to them. On 25th January 2008, there are group of soldiers from the Singapore Arm Forces (SAF) celebrated an early Chinese New year for the residents at Cheshire Home. Alpha Plus Magic was once again being invited to perform close-up magic for the home. The people at the Singapore Cheshire home enjoyed themselves and they like the magic show and the other programme prepared by the SAF! These residents from the home hoped to see more people visiting them! I stayed at the home for another hour to chat with the folks and I have learnt alot of life experience there. A 1 year old birthday party at Aloha Loyang left me a memorable night. Happen to see my colleague at the party and its a small world especially in Singapore. Initially, may group of magicians were prepared for all the magic props to entertain children from 1 year to 7 year old. We got a shock to know that all the children went home and were left with 2 small children. Being flexible, my group of magicians switch from children towards more adults entertainment. All of us have a great time together as beside perfroming magic, we also teach some them simple balloons twisting techniques. Magic & Balloons @ Old Airport Road

For those of you who likes the movie 881, you might have missed the stage performance by 'HUANG JIN JIE MEI' at Old Airport Road. This event was organised by Mountbatten CC. The songs sang are such wonderful that even my assistant was dancing while hepling me in inflating the balloons. We have a lot of fun assisting CISCO in balloons sculpturing and magic performance. I learnt a lot about CISCO through this event, example, we could open a safe box with them and also installing alarm at our house. Children like balloons. Even adults also like balloons. Sometime it is difficult to reject a child when he asked for a balloon sculpture. In the end my assistant and myself work another 45 minutes extra to satisfied the needs of these children and their parents. Today, the flower bracelet is the most popular among the rest of the sculptures twisted. Alpha Plus would also like to thank CISCO for giving us this opportunity to perform and serve the community.

Friday in Serangoon Garden Secondary School is for Uniform Groups. SGS NPCC Unit engaged Alpha Plus Magic to teach their Sec 1 and 2s cadets balloons twisting. A total of about 70 pupils, teachers and parents attended this workshop. You will hear a lot of 'Pops', Laughters, Crying etc in the room. Its not easy to talk to the pupils when the balloons are in their hands.

This is the first time (18 Jan) that Alpha Plus Magic went down to a Play house and Educare Centre to perform magic. The kids at the playhouse were so diciplined that they obey every order by the magicians. It is a challenge for our magicians to get the children to shout and scream as in the usual party. I believed that everyone would like to feel special during his/ her birthday. On Tuesday (15th Jan 08), was a special day for this lovely lady as her husband, celebrated her birthday at Tanglin Mall Macdonald. The birthday girl was being blind folded and when she open her eyes, a group of her friends and relative sang the birthday song and cheers for her. The whole atmosphere was filled with warmth. Alpha Plus magic was invited to perform magic and balloon sculpturing and all of us have quite a great time together. Alphoso, the magician told me that this is one of his most enjoyable performance night and he stayed for 1 hour at the party entertaining the adults. Magic @ AnchorVale CC Countdown 2008

Another new year has begun. Everyone of us has our wish and sometimes we try to use ways and means to get our wish come true. Yesterday, last day of 2007, Alpha Plus Magic performed at AnchorVale CC and we saw a stick with Chilie and Onion. Is this use to pray for no rain? Or is this use to wish for smooth event? It doesn't look like a fireworks to me. :)

The children today are rather young and well behave and shy. When we ask if they want balloon sculptures? Many of them shake their heads. When the MC ask if they want to watch magic performance, no reply from the children. Seems like the adults are more excited in tonight's magic. Our very young, active and freindly MP for AMK GRC, Dr Lam Yin Min, join in the magic show. A surprize look on Dr Lam's face when our magician vanished the one of the two 50 cents provided by him. Magic @ Serangoon Zone 1 Block Party

Year 2008 is coming to an end. Today is the last Saturday of the year and many places are celebrating the arrival of the new year. Alpha Plus Magic is very tight with performance schedule and has turn off quite a few birthday party performance due to RC's year end block party. We always believe that serving the community is something more meaningful. :)

Tonight's block party at Serangoon Zone 1 RC was amazing. It was the first time that we see many elderly and young children. We were wondering where are the other young teenagers or young adults? We can see that many elderly and children were dancing and laughting throughout the whole night. Alpha Plus Creative Arts was also asked to provide Art and Craft for the residents and at the same time promoting and advertising the Creative Art class commencing in January 2008.

Many children aged aroung 9 - 12 years old crowded our Magician, Alphonso, as soon as he arrived. We have infact made friends with quite a few of them and have also taught them some secrets of the tricks. In fact, most of the children still like balloon sculptures. Alpha Plus celebrated her first Christmas Party at Blk 509, Serangoon North Ave 4 with the residents of Jalan Kayu Zone 6 RC today. The place was filled with festive season mood and the residents were very excited with the decoration of the 5 Christmas Trees in the garden. The children were amazed by the Magic show and were happy to receive the Balloon Sculpture from Alphonso, the Magician. These children have also created their very own christmas ornaments by using simple recycled materials with guidance from the trainers of Alpha Plus Creative Arts. Thanks and congratuation to Lydia and her members for having successfully made this event a memorable one for the residents in the committee. Birthday Party at White Tangerine restaurant

Today Alpha Plus Magic has once again brought joy and laughter to another group of children at Paya Lebar Kovan Community Club - White Tangerine Restaurant. The little beautiful birthday girl was dressed up in green and looks like a little princess. If I am correct, I think Annastacia's, the birthday girl, favourite colour should be green. Look at the baskets of goodie bags in the baskets. They are all green! : ) This beautiful young girl was surrounded by many of her friends and birthday presents.
